Three Research Fellowships in Semantic Web Technologies

The Open University's Knowledge Media Institute (KMi) has three
openings for Research Fellows to undertake the design and development
of semantic web technologies within the AKT
(http://kmi.open.ac.uk/projects/akt/) and Dot.Kom projects
(http://kmi.open.ac.uk/projects/dotkom/).

The jobs will involve i) integrating web based knowledge and language
technologies to support knowledge management processes; ii) the
development of an infrastructure to support publication, discovery and
brokering of semantic web services; and iii) the development of novel
query answering facilities, which integrate ontology-based reasoning
with lexical resources, logical query answering, and information
retrieval.

Experience in web and knowledge technologies is essential for these
vacancies. Knowledge of language technologies would also be useful.

The 2-3 Year appointments will be made on the Research Staff scale
Grade 1A 18,265 - 27,339 or Research Staff scale Grade 2B 25,451 -
33,679, pa depending on qualifications and experience. Appointment =
as a Research Fellow requires a PhD or three years equivalent in
quality of achievement.

The Knowledge Media Institute is a highly successful 70-strong
interdisciplinary research laboratory founded at the Open University
in 1995, and located in attractive new offices at the Open
University's main campus in Milton Keynes, UK. KMi undertakes
high-profile advanced research and development in Knowledge Media: a
convergence of = knowledge, communication and computing
