The Natural Language Group is looking for an experienced Development
Lead to help shape the future of NL analysis for search and document
creation applications across Microsoft. NLG's components are used by
an increasingly broad range of applications to provide smarter, more
useful such features in multiple languages, including Japanese, French
and others.

As Development Lead for the Lexical Services Platform, you will drive
the first release of a multi-language component platform that supports
tokenization, morphology, spelling, compounding and other word &
phrase level natural language analysis. You will also be a key driver
of the group's long-term strategy for lexical services. To thrive in
this job you'll need excellent team leadership and software
engineering skills and some previous exposure to natural language
techniques. Most importantly, you'll need to be able to visualize the
potential of NL technologies, but temper that vision with pragmatism
and experience to leverage the technology to provide significant
customer benefit for MS products.

Requirements include excellent software architecture, design and
implementation skills, solid team leadership skills, ability to
understand complex algorithms and some exposure to natural language
analysis and statistical methods. A desire to expand one's
understanding of linguistic processes is imperative. At least 5 years
of software development experience, solid C/C++/C# experience and at
least 1 year of development lead experience is required. Bachelor's or
Master's degree in C.S., mathematics or related field is also
required. Some language ability in French, German, Spanish or Japanese
is a plus.

Microsoft is an Equal Opportunity Employer and supports workforce
diversity.
