Research Technologies Service
Grade RS1A (£18,265 - £27,339)
The Research Technologies Service (RTS), based at Oxford University
Computing Services, brings together a number of local, national, and
international initiatives focusing on the support of research and
utilising leading-edge technologies. Its activities and strategy are
described at www.oucs.ox.ac.uk/rts/.
The Oxford Text Archive (OTA) is a key component of the RTS. With
substantial funding from the JISC and the AHRB, it hosts the AHDS
Centre for Literature, Languages and Linguistics, which is part of the
national Arts and Humanities Data Service (see ahds.ac.uk), and is now
seeking to fill a key post involving high-level support at a national
level for research in the subject areas of English Language and
Literature, Modern Languages and Linguistics.
The successful candidate will hold a postgraduate qualification, or
equivalent, and have experience of working with electronic resources
in one of the literary or linguistic subject areas supported by the
OTA. Technical skills in electronic resource creation, enhancement,
management or use are desirable, as are skills in foreign languages.
