OPPORTUNITIES FOR GRADUATE STUDENTS AT PURDUE UNIVERSITY SPECIALIZING
IN SIGN LANGUAGE LINGUISTICS

The Purdue University Linguistics Program announces graduate student
financial support in the area of sign language linguistics. The
Program as a whole consists of faculty in areas covering a wide range
of linguistic areas, including phonology, syntax, semantics,
discourse, sociolinguistics, as well as historical and anthropological
linguistics. The research of two of the fourteen faculty members
focuses primarily on sign languages. Their areas of interest are sign
language phonology and syntax using a variety of theoretical and
methodological perspectives.

The program grants degrees at the Masters and Doctoral levels. Funding
possibilities are available for qualified students in the form of
Teaching Assistantships and Research Assistantships at both the MA and
PhD levels. Deaf applicants are especially encouraged to apply.
