The Department of Linguistics, University of Ottawa, invites applications
for a tenure track position in computational linguistics at the Assistant
Professor level, commencing July 1, 2005. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in
linguistics, with evidence of strong research potential. The appointment
will involve integrating computational linguistics with one or several of
the core areas of linguistics and/or the following research areas: language
acquisition, neurolinguistics, phonetic science and language impairment.
Preference will be given to candidates able to teach in both English and
French within a specified period of time. At the time of tenure, professors
are expected to have the ability to function in a bilingual setting.
Applicants should submit a c.v., representative samples of their research,
and arrange for three (3) letters of recommendation to be sent directly to
the address below before December 1, 2004. All qualified candidates are
encouraged to apply; however Canadian citizens and permanent residents will
