Summary of Role: We source, license, and release over 50 different langu=
ages of
Proofing Tools into Microsoft products. The successful candidate will be=
part
of the team that 1. Tests the integration of Proofing Tools within Micros=
oft
products, 2. Will help define a linguistic quality bar and strategy for a=
ll
languages of Proofing Tools together with linguistic tools that will veri=
fy the
bar has been achieved.
Description of Responsibilities:

Test all Proofing Tools (Speller, Thesaurus, Hyphenator, and Grammar) wi=
thin
Microsoft products using both manual scripts and automated test tools to =
ensure
the high quality of the tools.

Define a linguistic quality bar, strategy, and/or metrics for all languag=
es of
Proofing Tools that can easily be used to verify the linguistic quality o=
f
Proofing Tool.

Role Requirements:
Academic Requirements:
The ideal candidate should be studying for/have a degree in linguistics o=
r
computer science with demonstrated experience in natural language process=
ing/
computational linguists.

Competency Requirements:
Candidates should have experience in the development of systems in C++/C#=
.
