Rate students' test papers over 8 days!
Here's your chance to work with a national consortium developing an
English prof iciency test for English Language Learners in response to
the No Child Left Behi nd Act. The Center for Applied Linguistics is
looking for 12 people to score re sponses from students in grades 1-12
to a field test version of a new test.
Training will take place at CAL located at 4646 40th Street, NW on
Tuesday, Janu ary 18, 2004. Scoring will take place from January
18-19, 21, and 24-28, from 9: 00-5:00 each day. Candidates must show
an ability to rate consistently to take part in the entire rating
process.
Requirements for candidates:
1. Native speaker of English
2. BA or BS in any subject
3. Ability to read student handwriting
4. Availability to work onsite at CAL on January 18, 19, 21 and 24 â<80>
<93> 28 inclusive from 9:00 to 5:00 each day
5. Ability to use a computer
6. Preference will be given to those with previous experience in scoring wr
iting and/or classroom teaching
7. Pay will be $10/hour
8. Candidate will perform as an independent contractor and not as an agent
or employee of the Center for Applied Linguistics.
