Task: Research on Robust Speech Recognition

In addition to classical speech research this could also involve
integrating other modalities like computer vision.

Requirements:
-------------

- Good programming skills
- Degree (PhD or M.Sc./diploma depending on position) in computer
science, electrical engineering, mathematics, physics, computational
linguistics or comparable areas

Saarland University
-------------------

The university is located in Saarbr=FCcken, Germany, close to the French
border. It has about 17000 students nearly 3000 coming from abroad. The
university has a strong emphasis on computer science and language
technology.

Spoken Language Systems Group
-----------------------------

The group was launched in May 2003. It focuses on
man-machine-interaction and in particular on the use of speech
recognition for improved user-interfaces. The second main theme is
speech/language understanding and dialogue systems.=20
