The Department of Linguistics at the University of Texas at Austin invites
applications for a specialist in computational linguistics at the rank of
Assistant Professor on a tenure track. The position begins on August 18, 2005
and is contingent on funding.

Duties include:
- Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in computational linguistics and
related topics;
- Directing thesis and dissertation research;
- Conducting original research and publication;
- Co-directorship of the Department of Linguistics Computational Linguistics
Laboratory.

Requirements include:
- The Ph.D., awarded no later than August 18, 2005;
- Excellence or potential for excellence as a teacher, researcher and leader.

Interested persons should send a letter of application, curriculum vitae, a list
of courses they are prepared to teach, sample published or other written work,
and three letters of recommendation to the address given.
