The Centre for Vision Speech and Signal Processing at the University of
Surrey (www.ee.surrey.ac.uk/CVSSP) offers a PhD studentship for UK or EU
citizens in articulatory speech processing.
The research concerns a project to model the properties of speech dynamics
corresponding to measured articulatory gestures with a view, ultimately,
to improving the robustness of automatic speech recognition. Candidates
should hold a 1st or 2-1 honours degree or Masters degree in Electronic
Engineering or related discipline. The closing date for applications is
