Applications are invited for two permanent posts in the School of
English Studies, in Applied Linguistcs and Stylistics. One post will
be at Lecturer A/B level, and the other at Senior Lecturer/Reader
level, to be decided at interview. These posts form part of a
strategic expansion of the School, rated 5A in the 2001 RAE.
Candidates should have a PhD, be research-active and have interests in
the broad field of applied linguistics and language study. Applicants
for the post in applied linguistics should have a particular research
profile in second language acquisition and/or
psycholinguistics. Applicants for the post in stylistics should have
research interests in literary linguistics. These posts form part of
the School of English Studies, so a wider interest in discourse
analysis and culture will be an advantage.
Salary will be within the range £22,954 - £34,838 per annum for the
Lectureship, and £36,464 -- £41,333 for the Senior
Lectureship/Readership, depending on qualifications and experience.
