Applications are invited for a tenure-track faculty position at
the rank of
Assistant Professor, in the Department of Linguistics beginning employment
August, 2005. Candidates must hold a doctorate at the time of apppointment in
linguistics or related field, have a commitment to excellence in teaching, and a
demonstrated strong potential for excellence in research. The department is
seeking an individual who is able to work with diverse students and colleagues,
and who has experience with a variety of teaching methods and curricular
perspectives. Primary consideration will be given to specialists in human
language technology: in particular, speech technology, natural language
processing, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.
The individual hired will be expected to complement and augment our current
strengths and contribute to the various programs in the department and to the
cognitive science program, but especially to the development of our MS program
in Human Language Technology.
