Jeonju, South Korea invites applicants for a non-tenure track position at the
assistant professor level beginning March 1, 2006 in TESOL/TESL/ESL to
teach English and TESOL/TESL courses. The position requires a completed Ph.D. or
Ph.D. candidate and must be committed to the teaching and supervision of
undergraduate and graduate students. Teaching responsibilities will include
specialized graduate courses in TESOL/TESL/Language Aquisition and English
courses at the undergraduate level. Review of applications begins Dec. 1, 2005,

Responsibilities:
Teach at least three courses (total 9 hours/week)/semester in undergraduate
and/or graduate courses. Keep office hours. Advise students on academic and
pre-professional development. Supervise MA and Ph.D candidates. Maintain a
productive scholarly and professional life.
Qualifications:
Native English-speaker. Ph. D. or Ph. D. Candidate in
TESOL/TESL/ELT/ESL/Language Aquisition, university-level teaching
experiences preferred, Christian preferred, and promise in research/creative
activity and service.
Salary: 24,000,000~30,000,000 Korean Won/Year (depend on your degree and
teaching experiences) plus 6,000,000 won for a published research paper at
SCI level(up-to two papers/year) and 2,500,000 Won for a nationally recognized
published research paper(up-to two papers/ year), extra payment for more than 9
hours teaching/week
Benefits:
No teaching required during Summer and Winter semester(paid vacation),
National Health Insurance and Pension payments(deductable from your monthly
salary), one or two-bed room apartment provided or 200,000 Won for housing,
one-way air fare. Faculty members can apply for research grants with the
Korea Research Foundation (KRF). Travel grants (200,000~1,000,000won) are
available for presentations at international and domestic conferences.

a Christian college on January 19, 1964 in Jeonju, 'the city of golden history
and art.' Since it was taken over by Shindonga Educational Foundation in
December, 1984, the university has made substantial developments and is now
