Applications are invited for a half-time research position for three years (not
renewable) in a research project on 'Morphological variation and change',
funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (German Research Foundation) as
part of the Sonderforschungsbereich 471 'Variation and evolution in the
lexicon'. The successful applicant is expected to undertake research toward
their PhD in linguistics.
Project description:
The project investigates phenomena of variation and change at the
morphology-phonology interface in Romance, especially French and Italian.
The focus is on both, data retrieval and linguistic theory.

Requirements:
Applicants should have an M.A. degree (or equivalent) in linguistics.
They should be prepared to read Old or Middle French texts and have
experience in morphological or phonological analysis.
