The School of Applied Language and Intercultural Studies (SALIS) and
the School of Computing at Dublin City University are currently
looking for postgraduate researchers to work on a project in the area
of data-driven machine translation for audio-visual
applications. Successful applicants will be expected to enrol for, and
will be supported in the completion of, a research degree (Masters or
Doctorate).

Researcher 1 will have:
* an honours Bachelors degree in translation studies, language,
linguistics,
computational linguistics, or other relevant area
* knowledge of German
* familiarity with computer-aided translation and alignment techniques
* excellent communication skills
and preferably
* knowledge of screen translation
* excellent corpus-analysis skills

Researcher 2 will have:
* an honours Bachelors degree in translation studies, language,
linguistics,
computational linguistics, or other relevant area
* knowledge of Japanese
* familiarity with computer-aided translation and alignment techniques
* excellent communication skills
and preferably
* knowledge of screen translation
* excellent corpus-analysis skills

Researcher 3 will have:
* an honours Bachelors degree in computational linguistics, computer
science,
or other relevant area
* excellent communication skills
and preferably
* experience in implementing Example-based Machine Translation Systems
* knowledge of automatic evaluation metrics for Machine Translation


Successful applicants will be registered for a Masters or Doctoral
degree by research at Dublin City University and will receive a
stipend to the value of 19,000 euro (inc. fees and travel allowance)
in the first year (to be reviewed at the end of the first year).
