announce two research fellow (Ph.D. students) positions in theoretical
linguistics, within the area of phonology.
CASTL is a Centre of Excellence and has substantial funding from the Norwegian
Research Council and the University of Tromsø. In 2005 the Centre was accepted
as a 'forskerskole' (research training school). Today approximately forty
scientists and research fellows are working on projects advancing the research
focus of the Centre. The Center employs twenty of these while the others are in
affiliated departments.
Research fellows are part of the Centers organised 'forskerskole'. Applicants
for the two positions must provide a description of the Ph.D. project which
meets CASTL's research profile as described at http://uit.no/castl . More
information on the criteria for the application can be found in the 'betenkning'
The successful applicant can expect to have teaching responsibilities in
linguistics on all levels.
The positions are fixed-term for four years with 25 % administrative or teaching
duties each year. Previous employment as a research fellow or in an equivalent
recruitment position will count as part of the education program, so that the
total number of years spent on the education program is three.
The successful applicant will have to document competence in theoretical
linguistics at the Master's level.
The salary for the positions follows the relevant Norwegian regulations for
public organisations. This code is 1017 for doctoral fellows.
