We are looking for a Programmer Analyst to join our San Diego team. The
right candidate will have excellent problem-solving and development skills
with interest and flexibility to engage and solve the vast array of
challenges in developing high-quality machine translation systems.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:
Under the direction of a Senior Developer or Project Manager, a Programmer
will:
- Develop techniques and tools to analyze natural language data for applied MT
research
- Test designated programs modules and documents the results
- Assist other Linguistic Department personnel in a variety of tasks, including
development conversion/profiling/methodology tools, as well as generalization,
integration and optimization of prototype modules
- Contribute to global code maintenance and QA effort
Qualification requirements:
Master's degree desired, minimum of a Bachelor Degree in computer science or
equivalent background. Industry experience is preferable.
Other Skills
- Functional knowledge of probability and statistics
- Computer programming skills in C++ or Java
- Necessary tools and knowledge: Perl, UNIX, XML, XSLT, clarity on Unicode,
- Ability to do concentrated research and development
- Ability to organize work in order to meet schedules
- Good communication skills
