Harman/Becker Automotive Systems GmbH has an open position for a
software/sound engineer in the domain of Text-To-Speech synthesis (TTS)
technology for their daughter company Temic SDS GmbH in Ulm, Germany.

Temic SDS GmbH has more than 35 years of experience in speech
technology. Ten years ago Temic were the first to bring automotive
speech recognition to the market and have been pioneers in this field
since. Our particular strength is our expertise in all parts of the
processing chain: microphones, signal processing, speech recognition,
speech understanding, dialog design, speech output, and of course system
integration.

Starting immediately, we are seeking to fill an open position in the
Dialog Research & Tools group (EDDT). The tasks include:

* Planning and performing of quality assurance tests of TTS prompts
* Configuration management of sound files / hand over to integration for
customer projects
* Development of SW tools needed for evaluation and integration of TTS
technology
* Ongoing evaluation of TTS products wrt memory requirements,
performance, and sound quality
* Production of high-quality speech output prompts using tools from TTS
product suppliers (sound engineering skills are welcome)

Ideal candidates should have a degree in computer science and/or sound
engineering, and should have several years of experience in the domain
of speech synthesis. Fluent knowledge of German and English is mandatory
(additional languages would be a plus). The applicants should have
extensive experience in programming in C/C++ and be comfortable with
Windows environments.
