The Collaborative Research Centre (SFB) 632 "Information structure: the
linguistic means for structuring utterances, sentences and texts" at the
University of Potsdam, Department of Linguistics is looking a candidate to
fill in the following new position as soon as possible:

Independent Junior Research Group
Leader Position
(Salary scale: Ia BAT-O)

The candidate, a highly qualified junior scientist with a strong research
interest in linguistic issues correlating with information structure should
hold a PhD, passed no longer than six years ago. We expect postdoctoral
research experience, an excellent scientific record, the ability to
independently lead a research group, active collaboration and significant
contributions. The research interest of the candidate may be located in any
subfield of linguistics, theoretical and empirical, theoretical or applied
(for instance phonology, syntax, semantics, typology, psycholinguistics,
etc) or at the interface between subfields. Collaboration with the SFB team
is expected, and strong involvement in information structural issues is a
must.

The Independent Junior Research Group will be incorporated in the general
research programme of the Research Centre (for further information see
http://www.sfb632.uni-potsdam.de) and be located at the university of
Potsdam, where the required laboratory/office space and basic equipment,
including overheads, will be provided.

The Independent Junior Research Group is funded by the Deutsche
Forschungsgemeinschaft for up to five years and will enable independent
research to be carried out within a research network. Funding includes the
position of the group leader, scientific and technical personnel as well as
consumables and instrumentation.

Evaluation includes a personal presentation of the project and panel
assessment.

The University of Potsdam is striving to increase the percentage of female
