Undergraduate/Postgraduate Internships at DERI: 1-2 positions
Winter 2006 - Spring 2007
Interns will be involved the development of large scale Semi-Automatic
Semantic Annotation of unstructured text for the SWSE initiative as
part of the DERI-Lion Project.
Requirements:
- 3rd/4th year undergraduate, in Computer Science or Computational
Linguistics or equivalent qualifications in a related
field. Postgraduates Researchers with equivalent experience who are
currently registered at the Ph.D. or Masters level are also welcome to
apply.
- Strong programming skills, including Java
- Knowledge of XML, RDF, XSLT.
- Good communication skills.
- Coursework in artificial intelligence, data structures and algorithms,
Software engineering, Natural Language Processing and/or
Semantic Web Technologies
Desired:
- Windows and Linux development experience.
- Java Web programming.
- Knowledge of Natural Language Engineering and/or Semantic Web
Technologies and/or Information Extraction and/or Semi-automatic
Semantic Annotation.
Start date: As soon as possible
Duration: 6 months
Remuneration: Up to 1,000- or more per month (at Supervisor's discretion)
depending on qualifications and experience.
