The Knowledge and Data Engineering Group in the School of Computer Science
and Statistics of Trinity College Dublin is seeking to recruit motivated a
candidate with excellent academic credentials and an appropriate
postgraduate qualification. This Post-Doctoral/Experienced Researcher
position is to perform research in the personalisation of user interfaces
and information in eLearning environments developed on 3D gaming platforms.
The successful applicant will work as part of a European Commission
sponsored project that is developing an innovative eLearning platform
through the combination of computer science, cognitive science, pedagogy and
neuroscience disciplines. The Knowledge and Data Engineering Group has
internationally recognised competencies in model and service-driven
personalised eLearning environments, applying ontologies to the
personalisation of information navigation and presentation and
pedagogically-driven authoring tools for personalised eLearning. We offer a

The position is suitable for candidates who hold a Ph.D. or related Masters
in Multimedia, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related subjects.
Skills and experience are desirable in the development of some of the
following: adaptive hypermedia, personalised eLearning, 3D computer games,
multimedia content, ontologies and web service architectures. The
appropriate candidate should also have excellent research credentials and
preferably a number of relevant publications in the field of Adaptive
Hypermedia and/or Personalised eLearning. The expected salary range for the
position is between 28,000 and 35,000 Euro with an anticipated starting date
in March/April 2006.
