Postdoc and PhD positions in Machine Learning at NUI Galway and TCD.

A joint project between the National University of Ireland in Galway
(NUI Galway) and Trinity College Dublin (TCD) provides funding for a
post-doctoral researcher at NUI Galway and two PhD students, one at
Galway and one at TCD. The project will run for three years; the PhD
positions will be funded for three years and the postdoc position will
be funded for two years.

The research work is in the area of Machine Learning and will
concentrate on the development of practical applications of one-sided
classifier techniques. The postdoc should have a PhD in the general area
of machine learning; previous experience with one-class classifiers or
support vector machines would be and advantage. Candidates for the
research student positions should have an honours degree in Computer
Science or closely related discipline. Project experience in machine
learning would be of benefit.

Further details of the research work are available from Pádraig
Cunningham in TCD or Dr. Michael Madden at NUI Galway. The closing date
for applications is 11th Feb 2006.
