The School of Communication at the University of Ulster is pleased to
announce one research fellow (Ph.D. student) position in theoretical
linguistics.
The core group of linguists within the school of communication consists of
four full staff members and one part time member. The research fellow will
be working in a highly inspiring environment. The school of communications
houses students, researchers and staff in the area of communication science,
speech and language pathology as well as theoretical linguistics. Current and
future research integrates aspects of those fields and the successful applicant
is encouraged to take advantage of such an interactive environment which is
specific to the school of communication.
The successful applicant will have to document competence in theoretical
linguistics at the Master's level. Applicants for the position must provide a
description of the Ph.D. project in the areas of syntax, semantics,
sociolinguistics, child language acquisition, phonetics and phonology.
The successful applicant can expect to have teaching responsibilities in
linguistics The position is fixed-term for 3 years.
