PH.D. POSITION IN REINFORCEMENT LEARNING
A fully funded Ph.D. position is available at the Department of Computer
Science at the University of York, UK. The position is part of an
MoD-funded project on sensor network management, carried out by a
consortium led by QinetiQ (http://www.qinetiq.com).
The Ph.D. research will investigate the combination of reinforcement
learning and higher-level reasoning such as symbolic planning, as
applied to a sensor network management domain. The research will be
carried out in collaboration with a high-profile and inter-disciplinary
group of researchers from industry and academia.
REQUIREMENT:
- Very good BSc or Masters degree in computer science.
- Knowledge in Artificial Intelligence and/or Machine Learning.
- EU citizenship.
ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The Department of Computer Science has a strong research record.
Following a research assessment rating of 5* in both 1996 and 2001, the
Department of Computer Science was awarded the highest possible 6* grade
by the Higher Education Funding Council in 2003. More information on the
