The Semantic Web Cluster at the Digital Enterprise Research Institute
(DERI) at the National University of Ireland, Galway, Ireland, has
several openings for PhD students and postdocs within the EU projects
NEPOMUK and ECOSPACE.

The NEPOMUK project is aiming at the design of a Social Semantic
Desktop, which envisions the combination of semantics for personal
information management, exchange via P2P networks, and usage of social
networking metaphors.

The ECOSPACE project is aiming at developing support for
eProfessionals by semantically interconnecting groupware systems.

We are looking for PhD students which are interested in conducting
research within one or more of the following topics:

* Ontology-based Information System Development, Methodologies,
* Techniques and Tools. Service Oriented Architecture, especially for
* collaborative working environments and groupware systems Application
* of semantics for middleware architectures Semantics in personal
* information management and collaborative applications

DERI provides tax-free PhD fellowships of 19,740 Euro/year as well as
the tuition fee.

We are also searching for a postdoc with leadership and management
qualities. The candidate should posses excellent knowledge in one or
several relevant areas such as semantic web, software engineering,
service oriented architecture, and ontologies. The salary is
competitive and is commensurate with experience.
