PhD Candidate Embodied Human Machine Interaction
In the Ambient Intelligence & Design Deapartment at the Fontys University of
Applied Sciences, we are investigating intelligent environments that are
capable of intuitively reacting to human interaction and that are capable of
adapting to human behaviour.

Consequently, associated functions move progressively to the forefront,
whereas the apparatus itself fades into the background.

As we move into the future, these intelligent environments will strongly
influence our interactions with computers and other media and will make new
forms of use possible, whereby improvement of the user-experience is the key
aim. This improvement may include aspects such as the possibility to show
emotions, natural communication based on speech or movement, designs that
automatically adapt to use or functionality that displays a form of
involvement.

The successful PhD Candidate will be involved in both the design and
evaluation of intelligent user environments.
