A fully funded, three year PhD Studentship is now available, starting in
September 2007, within the Department of Computing Science at the
University of Montpellier, France. The Department of Computer Science of
the University of Montpellier is internationally recognised for its
research and was rated A in the CNRS (French National Research Center)
2006 Research Assessment Exercise.
The Computer and Human Interaction and Hypermedia group, led by Prof. M.
Nanard, has a long history of research in hypertext and hypermedia.
The group is now actively expanding its research into the fields of
information filtering and summarization of hypermedia and social medias
(such as weblogs and wikis). The group is looking for a versatile,
highly motivated PhD candidate who is interested in hypermedia,
information retrieval and text mining.
The successful candidate will build on the group's ongoing research in
summarization and information filtering from contextual information
(e.g. blog comments, wiki discussions, annotations, etc.) and will help
define and execute an exciting new research agenda.
Applicants must have a strong background in Computing Science and/or
closely related areas. Appropriate academic backgrounds include
Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics with strong emphasis on
Computing Science. Applicants must also be EU citizens.
