Job Description: Senior UI Designer x 2
Pre Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Linguistics, Cognitive Science, Psychology,
Computational Linguistics, Human Factors / HCI, Computer Science.
Advanced degree is a plus.
Experience and/or training with human factors (possibly in the field of
GUI design)
Enthusiasm and interest in learning about the unique issues involved
with VUI design
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Responsibilities:
*Responsible for designing an intuitive and compelling user experience
for one or more products or customer solutions.
*Requirement analysis
*Manage customer expectations for UI
*Assess and define speech requirements in a product or project
*Estimate design effort and complexity
*Design
*Understand and apply industry standards in dialog, prompt and persona
design
*Define standards for UI design, review UI for all projects
*Write grammars
Management
*Lead UI effort for major projects from end-to-end
*Train, qualify and mentor other technical resources in UI design
*Manage voice recording process
*Coach voice talent
Usability
*Conduct and/or manage usability testing across projects
*Analysis and Tuning
*Manage transcription process and transcription resources across
projects
*Manage performance analysis and tuning across projects
*Understand transcription process and perform transcriptions
*Use analysis, tuning, and transcription tools
*Tune dialogs
Process
*Evaluate tools of the trade
*Develop requirements for in-house tools
*Document and improve UI processes
Empowerment
*The individual will report to the Delivery Manager but will be expected
and empowered to prioritise work in order to (a) satisfy requirements;
and (b) meet deadlines.
Training Required In order to maintain awareness of state of the
art, and to aim career development, annual attendance of either
conferences (Eurospeech, or CHI (Computer Human Interaction) or user
forums (such as Nuance's Conversations) would be recommended.
Salary - Up to 50K
