Applications are invited for the position of Post Doc Research Fellow on
the AHRC-funded project 'Experimental Investigations of Semantic-Pragmatic
Inferences.' Based in the Department of Linguistics and Phonetics at
University College London, you will carry out experimental research into
online processes involved in deriving pragmatic implications in language
comprehension. You will contribute to all aspects of the project, including
data collection, linguistic analysis, and dissemination of the results.
The Post Doc Research Fellow will hold a doctorate in Psycholinguistics or
a cognate discipline. S/he will have experience in designing, running and
analysing the findings of behavioural psycholinguistic experiments in
language comprehension, using various methodologies, including the
visual-world eye-tracking paradigm.
The post is available for two years (October 2007 to September 2009). The
appointed candidate will work under the supervision of Dr. Richard Breheny.
The project is held in collaboration with Dr. Napoleon Katsos, RCEAL,
University of Cambridge.
The appointment will be made on UCL's Grade 7, currently £25,889 - £31,840
per annum, plus £2497 London Allowance.
