The software specialist will oversee the applied linguistics computer lab,
act as the software librarian and resource person for the applied
linguistics faculty and students, and assist the Intensive English and
Orientation Program with its software projects. S/he will be responsible
for overseeing implementation and maintenance of instructional, assessment
and research software for instruction and grant projects, consulting on
grant proposals, updating hardware and software, creating and maintaining
the software for the IEOP database, assisting with software aspects of
distance education and on-line testing projects, trouble-shooting, and
liaising with department and university hardware and software staff, as
well as off campus grant providers and collaborators.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science or computer engineering with some
coursework in linguistics, or Bachelor's degree in any other field with at
least 12 credits in IT coursework and one year of related experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree preferred.

Salary:
Minimum $32,444; commensurate with qualifications
