The Department of Computer Science at Trinity College Dublin is looking for
applications for THREE PhD positions in the area of interaction design and
human factors for natural language processing applications.
The positions are part of a large research project involving a consortium of
Universities (DCU, TCD, UCD and UL) and Industry Partners, funded by the
Science Foundation Ireland (SFI). Successful candidates will join a team of
Postdoctoral researchers, PhD students and research advisers from academia
and industry (partners include IBM, Microsoft, Symantec).

Candidates must have a degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
and experience in Human Computer Interaction, Natural Language Processing or
closely related area. Experience working with industry would also be
desirable. The job will involve development and comprehensive evaluation of
demonstrator systems, therefore requiring very good programming skills.
The studentships are being offered for 48 months on a full time basis, and
are tenable immediately, or as soon as possible. The grant covers a stipend
of approximately 16,000 Euro per annum (no tax is payable on this income),
University fees (approx. 5,000 Euro per annum), an equipment allowance and a
generous conference travel allowance.
