We are looking for a full-time NLP programmer/Computational
Linguist/Language Engineer with experience in linguistic
parsing/tagging, machine translation and/or information extraction.

Description: Computational Linguist/Language Engineer
Specialty Areas: NLP processing architectures, Machine Translation
and/or Information Extraction
Barcelona Media offers a full-time position for a Computational
Linguist/Language Engineer to work in the organization, management and
maintenance of NLP architectures for linguistic tagging, machine
translation and information extraction. The resources and tools to work
with will be used in many of the projects where GLiCom/the Voice and
Language Group of Barcelona Media is currently involved (see
http://www.glicom.upf.edu).
Requirements:
- Experience in programming NLP tools in Perl, Python or other languages
typically used in the field.
- Acquaintance with linguistics in order to be able to successfully work
in processing tools for Catalan, Spanish and English.
- Team spirit.
- Good English skills.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of Catalan and/or Spanish
- A degree, post-graduate or PhD in the areas of Computational
Linguistics, Computer Science, etc.
- Good Java, C# or C++ programming skills.
We offer:
- One year contract with the possibility of further extensions and
eventual stability
- Salary starting from 21.000 EUR per year, negotiated according to
experience
- Work in European and National projects of applied research and in
company-oriented projects
