Flash Designer
Division/Program: Language Testing Division
Hours per week: A full-time commitment of 35 hours per week is preferred.
The position requires residence in the Washington, DC commuting area.
Salary: $39,046 - $52,672 FTE pa commensurate with education and experience
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
Work as part of a project team comprised of science and math
specialists, educators, linguists, web and graphic designers, and
measurement specialists doing research and test development in the
area of math and science testing for grades 4-12 English language
learners. The project is focused on creating a computer delivered test
that will be accessible to ELLs with a grade level understanding of
math and science knowledge and practices, but with limited abilities
to demonstrate their understanding on conventional math and science
tests developed for native English speaking students.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop Adobe Flash 3.0 based animations and graphics according to
specifications.
Assist in creating e-learning and e-testing applications.
Use Photoshop to create and modify graphics and pictures and Sound
Forge to edit audio files.
Prepare written reports and maintain written correspondence.
Attend meetings and communicate verbally with co-workers, teachers,
and students. Other tasks as assigned.

NOTE: Limited travel is required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelors degree in some area related to computer graphic design.
Experience: The ideal candidate will have 2-3 or more years of
experience in creating and programming multimedia applications using
Flash; experience with Web technologies including HTML and ASP;
excellent writing and presentation skills in English. Working
knowledge of 3-D modeling and knowledge of a foreign language are
desirable.
