Junior/Senior Researcher for the EU FP7 SHAPE Project The junior or senior
researcher will be responsible for research and development tasks within the
SHAPE [1] project funded through the EU FP7. The SHAPE project aims to support
the development and realization of enterprise systems based on a Semantically-
enabled Heterogeneous service Architecture (SHA). SHA extends Service Oriented
Architectures
(SOA) with semantics and heterogeneous infrastructures (Web services, Agents,
Semantic Web Services, P2P and Grid) under a unified service oriented
approach. To achieve this the consortium of the SHAPE project will develop a
Model-Driven Engineering (MDE) tool-supported methodology and will take an
active role in the standardization of metamodels and languages for SHA.
Tasks
* The design and development of model transformations between generic meta-
models for services and Semantically-enhanced Web services frameworks.
* Adding and extending a service meta-models with formal semantics
* The development of support graphical tools (Eclipse plug-ins) for such
transformations and extensions
* Participation in project meetings, representation of the STI institute in
the project
* Scientific publications of research results, presentations of results in
conferences, workshops, tutorials, industry fora
Job Requirements
* Academic degree in computer science, statistics, mathematics or
business information management
* Strong knowledge of UML2
* Experience with UML tools and transformation languages (e.g.
EMF, ECORE, ATL, QVT, MOFScript)
* Good Java programming skills, preferably covering Eclipse plug- in
development and Java EE
* Understanding Web services and SOA technologies (WSDL, BPEL, UDDI,
SAWSDL, etc.)
* Knowledge about semantic web technologies is a plus (e.g. WSMO, WSML,
OWL, RDFS, RIF, etc.)
* Project management abilities, such as project plan maintenance.
* Limited travel may be required.
* Proven ability to work independently or in a team environment.
* The applicant should be creative and enthusiastic, with excellent
communication skills.
