We are looking for one software engineer at the National Centre for Text
Mining (www.nactem.ac.uk ) to provide robust and
scalable text mining services. The post is available from 1st October for 31
months.
The successful candidate will be part of the growing team of researchers
associated with both NaCTeM which is hosted by the School of Computer
Science and the Manchester Interdisciplinary Biocentre (http://www.mib.ac.uk
). The candidate will support, maintain and upgrade
the software infrastructure of the Centre, will integrate software programs
and design and develop the Centre's interfaces.
Applicants should have an MSc and a good first degree (minimum 2:1) in
Software Engineering or Computer Science; they should have excellent
software engineering skills and be able to develop algorithms and software
for robust applications; excellent knowledge in developing interfaces;
excellent knowledge of C, C++, Java, Javascript, XML, PHP, AJAX, QSL &
RDBMS, Windows, Linux and Web Services and Web Applications.
