Linguistics at the University of the Witwatersrand seeks to employ a
full-time staff member at the Lecturer level in 2010. The appointee should
be a specialist either in phonetics and/or phonology, or in
psycholinguistics. Staff members lecture and tutor students across all
years, and are required to produce research and supervise postgraduate
students.

The curriculum of the department concentrates on the formal disciplines of
linguistics - phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax and semantics. There
is also a strong emphasis on sociolinguistics.

Requirements: a Ph.D., teaching experience and a promising research record.
Research interests in African languages, bilingualism and/or cognitive
semantics would be a recommendation.

Remuneration: The position will be paid commensurately with the
qualifications and experience of successful applicant.
