Post-Doctoral/Senior Researcher Position

"Natural Language Processing"

at the UKP Lab in Darmstadt, Germany


The Ubiquitous Knowledge Processing Lab

at the Darmstadt Technical University is looking for a
Post-Doctoral/Senior Researcher in Natural Language Processing.
The successful candidate is expected to work in a research area
related to the UKP Lab's profile and to develop and/or to demonstrate
the skills expected as part of the Post-Doctoral qualification, such
as substantial research skills, PhD co-supervision, third-party
funding acquisition, cooperation with industrial partners,
or teaching abilities.

The UKP Lab has been established in 2007 and has grown to more than
fifteen research staff members. It participates in cutting-edge basic
and applied research projects, cooperates with a range of academic
and industrial partners, is active in the international scientific
community and strives for high-quality research standards.
The UKP Lab also closely cooperates with a set of strong Computer
Science departments in Darmstadt, such as Visual Computing,
IT Security, or eLearning, and has developed strong expertise in
cross-disciplinary applications of language technology.

REQUIREMENTS

The applicants are expected to have a strong profile in Computational
Linguistics, Natural Language Processing and/or Computer Science and to
possess the ability to conduct original research indicated by their
publication record.
Substantial programming skills in Java are important as well as the
ability to effectively cooperate with the group members.
The knowledge of German is a plus, but is not an absolute requirement.
