Stony Brook University's Department of Linguistics invites applications for
a tenure-track position in language acquisition at the rank of assistant
professor, to begin Fall 2010. Applicants should have an active research
program in language acquisition or closely related field, as well as the
ability to teach courses in language acquisition, with a priority in second
language acquisition, at the graduate and undergraduate levels (B.A.,
M.A.-TESOL, Ph.D.) Candidates should also be able to offer a range of
other graduate and undergraduate courses in linguistics, such as
bilingualism. The ideal candidate would be expected to (1) maintain an
active research program that includes an experimental or computational
dimension that complements and enhances the Department's strengths in
linguistic theory, and (2) contribute to the ongoing development of the
Department's graduate and undergraduate degree programs. The successful
candidate will have completed a Ph.D. in linguistics before September 2010.
