Department background: The Department of Information and
Communications has an international reputation for excellence in
teaching and research. We offer a choice of routes for undergraduate
study including Information Management, Information and
Communications, Librarianship, Digital Media and Communications and
Web Development. There are Masters courses in Information Management,
Library and Information Management and Informatics. We also offer
doctoral research opportunities. The Faculty offers a wide range of
programmes at diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate levels in
humanities, law and social science, attracting more than 5,000
students from a diverse range of backgrounds. It has strong links with
the community and has an active programme of research across its
disciplines. The Department of Information and Communications is
based in the Geoffrey Manton Building, where it has excellent
facilities. The Department is expanding its teaching and research in
the area of Communications Media and wishes to appoint a 0.5 lecturer
who can teach in this area and contribute to research in
communications media or social informatics. You will work alongside
existing staff within our innovative interdisciplinary department and
help lead research and teaching developments amongst a vibrant group.
You should hold a PhD or equivalent professional experience in an
appropriate subject, with a record of research outputs and have
