The Pattern Recognition and Human Language Technology (PRHLT) group of
the "Instituto Tecnologico de Informatica" ("Universidad Politecnica
de Valencia", Spain) invites applications for a post-doctoral
position in the fields of Multimodal Interaction, Pattern Recognition,
Computer Vision and Human Language Technology.

The position, necessarily based in Spain, will range from 1 to 3
years, yearly renewable, depending on the subjects chosen and the CV
of the applicants. The gross annual salary will be around 24,000
Euros, also depending on the proposed developments and experience of
the applicants. In addition, generous allowances are available to

This is a pre-announcement to select candidates for a job position in
the framework of the MIPRCV programme.

SUMMARY OF THE PROJECT

PRHLT is one of the seven research groups participating in the
CONSOLIDER-INGENIO 2010 programme: "Multimodal Interaction in Pattern
Recognition and Computer Vision" (MIPRCV - http://miprcv.iti.es).

MIPRCV establishes a five-years research programme to develop Pattern
Recognition and Computer Vision approaches that explicitly deal with
the challenges and opportunities entailed by the human-interaction
paradigm. Based on these approaches, it also aims at implementing
actual systems and prototypes for a number of important applications.
The ultimate goal is to show how existing PR and CV technologies can
naturally evolve to help the development of advanced multi-modal
interactive systems that will realize the long standing promises of
a seamless synergy between persons and machines.
