PhD scholarship -- Centre for Language Technology, Macquarie
University

The PhD is attached to an Australian Research Council-funded project
on natural language generation for Aboriginal languages. The overall
project involves of constructing a data-to-text system for the
Aboriginal language Arrernte, taking as a starting point data from AFL
("Australian Rules") football. This will include a computational
linguistic analysis of Arrernte, the construction of a grammar for
Arrernte in an appropriate formalism, and the building of an
English-language prototype system; the PhD will focus on one aspect of

The position will be at Macquarie University, Sydney. Details on
