Job Offer for a Computer Linguist ( IULA/UPF)

The job is set to participate in a project to develop an
infrastructure for research. The candidate will lead the design and
development of a services platform aimed at researchers, within the
fields of Humanities and Social Sciences, by selecting search tools
and use cases.

The contract is for two years (2013-2014) and pays around 31,000
e. annual gross, depending on the candidate's experience.

Location: Barcelona, Spain
Working hours: 37.5 hours per week

Profile: Technician in language technology

1. Programming in Perl.
2. Advanced knowledge of XML.
3. Knowledge and experience with metadata for language resources
4. Knowledge and experience in the development and application of tools for natural language processing and linguistic corpus.
5. Design and Administration of Databases.
6. Linux Administration Web Server (Apache, etc ...)
7. Subversion/git
8. Good command of English.

Knowledge of ISO standards for language resources and web layout (CSS)
and OAI / PMH servers are highly desirable. We also value skills like
initiative, independence, teamwork experience and willingness to work
in a multidisciplinary international environment.
