ComputeTY is an outreach programme for transition year students run every
January by the School of Computing in DCU. We are currently in the process
of recruiting tutors for our introductory Java programming stream. The role
of the tutor is to teach the course material (provided well in advance),
aided by 2-3 undergraduate lab assistants who provide one-on-one help to
students. The class sizes range from 20 to 40. We are looking for someone
who is comfortable with basic programming concepts (if statements, loops)
and who is able to manage a class of 15-16 year-olds in a supportive, fun
environment.

ComputeTY 2016 will take place between 11-29 January 2016 and consists of a
week-long 9:30am-3:30pm course, run over three weeks to a different set of
students each week. Ideally, we are looking for someone who is available
for all three weeks, but there is room for some flexibility. The hourly
rate of pay is 17.19 euro.

For more information about the programme, please see the following:

Please email jfoster@computing.dcu.ie if you are interested in getting
involved or if you have any questions about the programme.
