Research Fellow in Psycholinguistics (TVöD 13 salary scale, 50%)

The Department of Linguistics at Ruhr-Universität Bochum is offering a
position for a young researcher (e.g., Ph.D. candidates). The candidate will
work on projects on visual word processing at the single-word or the sentence
level. The candidate’s task will be to design and implement experimental
paradigms for investigating visual word recognition, including eye tracking
experiments, and to analyze the results and write up experimental findings for
publication. The position includes teaching obligations amounting to one
course per semester, i.e. two courses per academic year. The courses to be
taught should introduce students to current topics in visual word recognition,
including research at the interface of psycholinguistic and corpus linguistic
research.

The ideal applicant for this position holds an MA in cognitive psychology or
linguistics with a strong psycholinguistic focus, has an excellent record in
his/her respective discipline, and has excellent scientific communication
skills (including writing in English).

The position is awarded for a period of three years as half-time position,
starting at April 15th, 2016. Salaries are determined following the salary
scale TVöD 13 (50%).
