--Research Topic--
This masters studentship will involve investigating Irish language
user-generated content (UGC) through computational means. UGC describes
content that has been created online without having gone through a review
process for quality, grammatical correctness, clear structure, etc. and is
usually found on online forums, social media platforms, and blogging
platforms. The successful applicant will use state-of-the-art techniques in
the areas on natural language processing and machine learning to build
models for processing and analysing UGC in a resource-scare scenario. This
position provides the opportunity to work in a team of interdisciplinary
Irish NLP researchers as part of a combined effort to address the lack of
linguistic tools and resources currently available to Irish language
processing.
