Description
The French Institute at the University of Bern in Switzerland invites
applications for two 4-year PhD student positions in the Swiss
National Science Foundation Project “Discovering Discourse:
The Acquisition of Connectives in L1 and L2”. One PhD student
will be in charge of studying the acquisition of connectives in L1
during teenage years, and the second PhD student will study the
acquisition of connectives in the course of second language learning,
from intermediate to advanced levels.
Requirements
The ideal candidates have a Master degree in linguistics or a related
field, with a solid background in pragmatics, discourse and/or
psycholinguistics. They have an excellent command of French. A working
knowledge of German is a plus. They are committed to work
collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team at the University of
Bern and to contribute to national and international collaborations
with the project partners. The positions do not include regular
teaching commitments.

- a sample of their writing (MA thesis or term paper)
